Homegoing Services for Minister Alfred Carswell Jr., who was a beloved Husband, father, and friend, passed away March 16, 2025, will be held, Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of College Hill, 3838 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida 33610. Reverend Marvin Simmons of First Baptist Church of College Hill, officiating. Committal will be made at Harmon Funeral Home.
Min. Alfred Carswell Jr. was born May 3, 1952, in Tampa, Florida, to the parentage of Esther Mae Jones-Carswell and Alfred Carswell Sr. Minister Carswell graduated from Hillsborough High School, and he was a stand-out athlete in track and drummer of the Terriers' band.
Min. Alfred Carswell, Jr. was married to Sarah Martin-Carswell. He was a former minister at Peace Progressive Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of First Baptist Church of College Hill until his illness.
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Sarah; daughters, Leslie Henderson (deceased) and Terry Harris; sons, Lorenzo Carswell, Antonio Carswell, Jerry Harris, Timmy Harris; siblings, Albert Carswell, Alvin Carswell (Sharon), Rosiland Carswell, Curtis Carswell (Vicki), Vernell Yvette Carswell Sutton (Ernest), Van Carswell (Bridgett), and Davida Smith (Anthony). He also leaves 6 grandchildren: Shanitra, Vonecia, DiVonte, Ashley, Kemoni, Asaiya and 3 great-grandchildren: Candence, Kairo, and Layla. And a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
