Mr. Willa Jamal Pierre aka NiNi
Homegoing Services for Willa Jamal Pierre aka NiNi, who passed away March 30, 2025 will be held Saturday April 19th at 2pm at Harmon Funeral Home, 5002 N. 40th St. Tampa FL, 33610, with Apostle Andrew Holder officiating. The committal will follow.
Willa was born on February 6, 1997, in Miami, Florida, to Elizabeth Octavien and Willa Pierre, and was the youngest of their children — the beloved baby brother to two eldest sisters and a large, close-knit family.
Willa Pierre was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Misera Fortune, his cousin, Ronnie Octavien, and his nephew, Javier Arenas, all of whom held special places in his heart.
He is survived by his devoted parents and siblings: Wilda Arenas (and her husband Juan Arenas), Willisa Pierre (and her fiancé Aaron Harmon), Widney Pierre, Marguerite Pluviose, Kizzy Weaver, and a loving extended family.
Willa was known as a gentle giant — standing at 6’4” and weighing 350 pounds, his imposing figure was balanced by a heart full of kindness, warmth, and love. His athleticism and determination led him to play Division I football for Florida International University (FIU), where he proudly represented his school on the field. A graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Miami, he was known not only for his strength and skill but also for his leadership and heart.
Off the field, Willa was a fierce and passionate gamer. He was known as one of the best — especially in Fortnite — and loved any game that brought out competition and connection, from basketball and football to baseball and beyond. His love for games was matched only by his love for the people he played them with.
