Home going services in celebration of the life and family love of Johnnie Lee Johnson, who passed away on March17, 2025, will be held Saturday afternoon at 1pm, at Harmon Funeral Home 5002 N. 40th Street Tampa, Florida 33610, with Pastor Tom Jones, officiating. An Interment Ceremony will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
A much-loved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Johnnie Lee Johnson, Sr-affectionately known as ‘Redman’ was born Dec. 20, 1947; the oldest child of the late Bernice Johnson and Ronald Ratliff in Nitta Yuma, MS. He departed life on March 17, 2025 at his home in Tampa, Florida.
He was united in holy matrimony to Para Lee Byrd on March 8, 1966. He was a member of New Zion Rock Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Henderson Nolden where he served as Deacon. He later joined Heaven Destiny Assembly of God under the leadership of Pastor Tom Jones. He enjoyed fishing and hunting until his health began to fail.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three children: Johnnie Lee Johnson Jr, Luwonder Johnson and Terrell Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 59 years; Para Lee Johnson, Son: Jerome Johnson(Catrina), Daughters: Laura Johnson, Yulanda Johnson and Theresa Johnson all of Tampa, Florida. Sisters: Ida Ree King(Roger) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Christine Causeway of Tennessee, and Jessica White(Jimmy) of Florida. Brothers: Alexander Robinson of Louisiana and Jerry Robinson of Tennessee. 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Brother in-law: Calvin Washington(Christine), Sisters in-law: Dorothy
Washington(Leroy) and Brenda Washington(Ken), dear friends Larry and Loretta Bailey all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a host of nieces, nephews and other friends.
